Every evening I reflect on my day, focusing on only the positives and simply letting go of all that is negative. Before bed I am usually squirming with joy reflecting back on the changes and experiences that occurred that day (Read about my evenings if you are feeling stressed before bed). I have always had trouble in the mornings. The second I wake up I am thinking about what I am going to do, if today will be a productive day, should I do this should I do that. Who wants to wake up with a million stressful thoughts? I tried a short little activity that took barely any effort and man did it kick start my day! I wrote down a few questions for after my morning stretch. At the top of my page I wrote, "Good Morning! Smile : D" as I did right when I woke up. Smiling when you wake up is the best feeling in the world! My first question was:
"What is your will today?"
A: My will today is to express love. To be extremely kind to everyone. To go out of my way to help others. To heal with smiles. To see perfection in my brothers and sisters!
"What are you thankful for?"
A: I am thankful for the beautiful sunny day that awaits me outside my window. I am thankful for the peaceful mind I have. I am thankful for the rest I just had. I am thankful for the happiness I feel this early in the morning! I love it! : D
"What excites you about today?"
A: Today is an opportunity to grow and expand. To give love to everyone and everything in my experience. I am excited to meet new people and travel to new places.
"If you could accomplish one thing today what would it be?"
A: I wish to serve others with love as best as I know how. Today is about seeing perfection in my fellow beings, perhaps I'll write an article about it! (and I did!)
And a few words of wisdom that mean a lot to me.
Listen to any resistance that may arise, remember to let it go.
There is no other time but the now, this very moment!
It's gonna be a great day, you can!
Patience : D
This is what I woke up to this morning. The love that was generated by these thoughts was incredible! I was running up my stairs to brush my teeth, smiling and dancing. When you really want to change things, you will. Keep a notebook by your bed side and a glass of water for the morning. Point your focus to the thoughts that make you feel the best and smile. The best morning in years. Followed by one of the most productive and enjoyable days I have experienced in months.
Love, Dave

Wow, I have the same dilemma except for that I am always squirming with joy in the morning and find my mind flooded with stressful thoughts in the evening! I will try to work out this exercise to fit my own habits and let you know how it goes :) Also, keeping a journal and water by my beside has done wonders for me in the past few months for dream recollection and understanding! Yay!!
